The 100 award-winning works of Good Design Award 2022 (Japan Good Design Award G-mark), one of the world-class design awards in 2022, have been wonderfully released! Among them, some smart assistive devices have also been favored. In recent years, more and more intelligent assistive devices have come to the fore on the world design stage. Based on this, the editor has compiled some smart assistive devices that have won heavyweight awards over the years and recommend them to everyone.

ThermoWear

Using biocompatible thermoplastic composites with embedded circuits and sensors, ThermoWear is powered by the ability to reconfigure directly on the human body, conforming to and quickly forming three-dimensional smart wearables. Metamaterial structural patterns improve compliance to complex and organic body shapes, allowing iteration and adaptation of wearable shapes and sizes to accommodate body growth and changes.

Bio Leg

A new type of powered prosthesis that assists the user's movements. It works by replacing lost muscle strength with assistive strength provided by a prosthetic limb. The overall appearance and body movements are more natural, allowing users to engage in more active activities. Multiple sensors installed analyze the user's movements and respond immediately to detailed actions. A dedicated app can be used to adjust the amount of assistance and check the remaining battery power.

Helppad

A care system that uses sensing and artificial intelligence technology to detect excrement through the "smell" of feces and urine. Installation is completed by laying special suction cups on the bed, and can also be used while wearing diapers or clothes. The defecation status can be known without opening the diaper, which reduces the burden on caregivers. and the ability to view, manage, and inspect excretion data from a facility from a computer browser.

UNI-ONE

A new mobility tool that can be used by men, women, old and young, with or without lower limb disabilities. Through original balance control technology and wheel structure, the rider's hands are freed to move in all directions "at will". The automatic lifting function ensures equal sightlines between passengers and ordinary people when communicating.

Standing wheelchair for Rehab exercise

XZ-Droid Smart Standing wheelchair is an intelligent self-care rehabilitation robot originally developed and designed. It has been upgraded to the third generation. It integrates intelligent auxiliary mobility functions such as intelligent wheelchairs, rehabilitation training, and displacement machines. It can stand, move, self-care, rehabilitation, etc. Features, it can really help patients with functional impairments who have difficulty moving their lower limbs and cannot take care of themselves.
